Work
My work has been focused on product development and management since my PhD, and that's what I enjoy most. Initially, I was primarily involved in hands-on product development myself, and later I transitioned to leading and steering it. Of course, it's still enjoyable to create things personally.
- Since 2020, I have been a Product Owner/Manager at Thermo Fisher Scientific, Eindhoven. My current focus is on developing new management software for Transmission Electron Microscopes (TEM), replacing the 40-year-old legacy software.
- During my PhD (VU Amsterdam), my 'product' was a laser laboratory and a high-tech instrument comparable to an electron microscope. I built this from an empty laboratory.
- In Frankfurt (postdoctoral research, Atomic Physics), I managed the laser laboratory for the group.
- At Philips Research, I worked on simulation and development of exterior lighting, for which I developed and maintained software tools for other optical engineers.
